I am in process right now with the packing procedures to ready myself to leave for Mozambique in 3 crazy days. I will be living, loving, worshiping, and studying among about 300 other students for 10 weeks and then going on an extended outreach to the Mozambican Bush Bush for 10 days, followed by a 5 day extension to stay on base for Christmas there. The best way to describe what "Bush Bush" means, is that there is the "Bush" - say, Pumpkintown, and then the Bush Bush, the area between Pumpkintown and Pickens that nobody has any clue what could reside there. It is the tiny, unknown villages throughout Mozambique that have either never heard the Gospel before who will have the Gospel preached to them and see people healed, saved and delivered... or have only recently heard the Gospel and the team will go back to reach out again and encourage the church there.
Very simply, my heart is to go and be wrecked by the love of Jesus. I want to go to love people and hear their stories. It's not really complicated but it's my heart. I am excited! I love adventures and know that this is sure to be a great one because my King asked me to go with Him. I am excited for the worship. I look forward to meeting and playing with the children there. I look forward to dancing and laughing a lot.
As I am making final preparations, I am still in need of funds for this trip, however. Therefore, here is my invitation: I would love for you to prayerfully consider joining me in His story all over the world right now through your financial support. There are a couple of ways to give: 1) Go to wearecitychurch.com/give and click "Give Online." Under the pull down tab, choose "Short Term Missions" and write my name - Chelsea Wine - in the "Additional Information" comment box. 2) You can make a check out to me and give it to me in person anytime before Monday.
The Lord is writing a great adventure, comedy, action, romance, drama and has been since the beginning of time. What a joy it is that we get to play active roles in it and share His goodness with the world! I know that my story is only one part, one tiny role, in His story, but I love that I have it. My previous two posts share the key parts of this part of my story thus far for me. The first one shares how He asked me to go on this adventure; while the latter one details more of the back story, as well as where my heart is right now as I prepare to leave. I would love for you to read them to hear more of how I got to where I am and join in this part of His story. I look to share more with you going forward through posts here or through email correspondence while I am gone.
Thank you in advance for your prayers and support!
